Visit to Kuala Kangsar. October 2012

Visited Kuala Kangsar last weekend, sorry/ maaf.... the Royal Town of Kuala Kangsar.

....always thought the town was lovely and scenic...so checked it out ...and yes i stayed the night at....where else...the KK Rest House lah!

 ..the view from the rest house cafe balcony...scenic as ever...though i actually preferred the old rest house...oh well...

..they don't have a swimming pool ...but the public pool is just next door...entrance is free ...didn't have time for a swim ..but it looked real clean...(you know la...public??)

...but the bedroom was spacious...super basic....charge was RM150..

 

 .was on the 1st floor...though the elevator has not yet been commissioned...even though (i was told) the establishment has been opened for over a year...maybe more.

whatever...the air-con was good and i managed to get a good nights rest....wifi is available only at the cafe and lobby...not in the rooms.

Tea @ Ananda Bhawan,,......April 2012

I was asked to join a friend for tea...at Ananda Bhawan/ oldtown..

....i seldom take tea after work...it spoils my dinner....anyway this place was busy coz it had a wide variety of food...even a street vendor.....

..busy coz this place has a wide menu

the tables were busy with coming's and goings of customers...

...and i ended up with this huge 'masala thosai'...it was fill..ll..ing

 

and i was tempted to try these ladu-ladu!!!,,,but of course i resisted...

...anyways it is a nice place...interesting tea menu...haven't tried their lunch or dinner yet...

..and interesting place...its environment adds that different dimension of multi-cultural Ipoh......btw its just round the corner from the Old Town (i mean the Original and traditional Old Town) coffee shops...

..

check it out...i'm sure you will enjoy the atmosphere as much as the menu..

St Michael's School Fun Fair and Talentime

Wow !...2 in 1...so ...Ipohites....get ready for the SMI Fun-Fair and Talentime....on the 29th of this month ....its been a long time since i've been to a fun fair....and decades for a Talentime...

...at my alma mater ....looking forward to it..more so in its centennial year.

Palm Sunday...the start of Holy Week

...Got this from Google..."Palm Sunday falls on the Sunday before Easter. The feast commemorates Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, an event mentioned in all four canonical Gospels".

....."according to the Gospels, Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem, and the celebrating people there lay down their cloaks in front of him, and also lay down small branches of trees.




......"John more specifically mentions palm fronds. The palm branch was a symbol of triumph and victory in Jewish tradition, and is treated in other parts of the Bible as such"

Why is Lent always coloured purple??


updated 1 April:...think i got the answer today on Palm Sunday..."the Roman soldiers draped Jesus in purple cloth and mocked him the King of the Jews after which they put his clothes back on before they crucified him"
