jalan2 ...Sitiawan and Lumut...

Still driving around Sitiawan.. noticed the 'lapangan terbang' sign. They have an aerodrome in the center of town. I checked it out.Indeed they do...Not sure what aircraft touchdown here though.Maybe someone can update me on this...thanks
On the left is some recreation area ..basketball courts , foodstalls , etc...
On the right ..a nice country scene
Not bad having an open space in the heart of town.....
Opposite the 'Padang Terbang' was this lovely establishment. Thought it was a country club.Drove in to check it out.
Turned out to be the house of a GM for a plantation. Well the gate was wide open..... The grounds were well maintained. Lovely...anyway its onto Lumut for lunch...Haven't been there for almost a year...
I have always loved this view of Lumut bay.The view of Malayan Flour mills across the bay..but now there is more construction that side ......
Ah...Lumut .......it always has a calming effect....

Ships anchored in the bay....
...boardwalk to nowhere.....these are pleasant scenes that seem to satisfy me...
Lumut Waterfront area.....
..this looks too international by now....
Saw this chinese school on the main road.Somehow i never noticed it before.I like these old chinese schools now because alot of them are well looked after. This is the Eng Ling chinese school and its 80+ years old. Hmm..must do a posting on well maintained old chinese schools.
The condition and appearance of the school is clean and well maintained. The design is similar to the shops i saw in Sitiawan town earlier.
The yard ........
The area in front of the office........aha..light green pastel colored paints...Anyway enough of shots. It was way past lunch time...
This hotel and kedai makan ( the wooden building) was right next to the school. It was clean. I went in.
Very nice name ..'fish head curry restaraunt'...very original. Imagine a foreign tourist trying to remember that name..haha..
Just a basic lunch for me, fried rice (RM3.50) and a cool dane (RM12)...
Innovative shop..ice cream and drinks chiller.......didn't see any ice cream though
All prices displayed....pls note at the bottom shelf..Kg Koh chilly sauce bottles...
Happy customers that sent photos to the proprietor...

One more shot on the road back home ...saw this old church...should be ayer tawar... looked like a set from little house on the prarie...making way for progress...

cheers...
