This is the new kid on the block..Babyface..and its at old town..
at the end of the block is RHB Bank and next to it is the Ipoh Padang..
yep..its an old heritage shop lot thats turned into a pub..its longer than the newer shop lots (think its 110 ft long) meaning you will have to walk further to the toilet..
its pretty quiet at 630pm..but at least you can sip your cold beer and view the old archietecture of that time..
..its got 2 lounges..nicedly done....beers being chilled.....
you can sit outside .................by 8pm the crowd has come in...
the live band starts at 10pm...music is lively.....
after the happy hour if you need a snack or even dinner..2 blocks away at the Ipoh Padang there are coffee houses and the infamous Old Town Kopi Tiam ( they close by 11pm) or if you go towards the riverbank 1 block away is Frens Corner..
...Frens corner menu...my snack..Fish Fu Pei krabu salad
i went back to Baby Face after the snack ..however i decided to have a Snow Beer at Maysin kedai kopi next to Babyface instead...not bad sitting in the open air....
the atmosphere at old town is slowly changing since kopi tiam opened shop here..the last decent pub that opened this side of the Kinta River was Miners Arms...and that was like 30 years ago..lets see how things turns out..
THe cool place to open up would be the Riverside Park. It could turn out to be another Singapore Clarke Quay. But then, booze is non-halal so another tourist attraction gone.
