Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan....a beautiful building.

There's something about this new Perak government. I feel they are more open unlike previously. So much so that when I passed by the state government offices last week i thought i'd drive in to have a look see. Besides it was Tuesday, the day the rakyat could meet with their elected representatives...i think so. I didn't want to meet anyone..just wanted to kay por around the building and take some shot. It was 330pm..its been raining everyday around this time. The sky was grey though the sun was still shining bright. Great contrast of light....i parked my car and took this frontal shot of the building...Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan, officially opened in the year 2000...i was stopped by the guard..i needed permission before i could take photos.. i had to go up to the 3rd floor for that...which i did.

i promptly met the officer and was ok'd to take my shots..i proceeded to walk around..i went up to the library for a look see around...nice place...


the view from the 3rd floor...a lovely view of the front entrance , courtyard, water features. The small colonial building in the centre was the 1st "Pejabat Setiausaha Kerajaan"designed and built by Mr CH LaBrooy. The larger building on the right across the road was the second government offices "Bangunan Sri Perak" which was officially opened in 1970.

the view as i walked out the front door....looks grand..the fountain on the left wasn't sprouting water..possibly the timing was out..

i must say the Islamic designs running along the front pillars are beautiful...


..they look great... though it could use some maintanenace .

Islamic design tiles on the floor of the courtyard. Simply lovely.
i saw this stainless steel sculpture as i was driving out.it was beautiful..it seemed to blend in naturally against the backdrop of the government building..

the clouds were becoming more threatening now. But it made the yellow shaded walls of the museum stand out against a grey sky.....

a lovely colonial building to house a museum. In the foreground..a bucket from a tin dredge...and to the left of the photo the roof of Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan..a natural blending of the old with the new...how was it that i never saw it all previously..hmmm...it must be a new breeze sweeping through ....

now!!.. i wish i could get the name of the architect that designed this new building...must say it is a very impressive design.
