Feast of Corpus Christi , Ipoh Parish.

The Feast of Corpus Christi was held for the first time at the Indera Mulia Stadium in Ipoh. The Parish of Ipoh consist of 3 churches namely St Michaels , Ipoh , Our Mother of Perpetual Help, Ipoh Garden and Our Lady of Lourdes,Silibin.

The feast of Corpus Christi is a feast in honour of the Holy Eucharist. This years theme was "One Body in Christ" hence the 3 churches in Ipoh congregated at the Indera Mulia indoor stadium together to show their solidarity as one church
The indoor stadium has a capacity for 6000 people and is air conditioned. It was indeed an appropriate venue. More so as it rained last Sunday evening.
It was organized very well. All the ministries were on time....the servers...
......banners of the various ministries.....the choir...wardens from OMPH....
wardens from St Michaels Church.......everybody at their station.......the 'hand phones switch-off ' poster before the start of the mass.
Mass started at 6pm sharp... with the choir singing the entrance hymn.....
the convenience of using multi media...all responses and prayers were projected in 4 languages simultaneously......this saved alot of time....
Only the gospel was preached individually in 4 languages....Father Bernard Paul .......preaching in Bahasa Malaysia....
The choir singing during the offertory.....
One big family joined hands in solidarity to sing the Lords Prayer......
Communion Ministers preparing for communion.......

One Parish partaking of holy communion.....

Getting ready for the procession.....note the banners in the center.....
The Host representing the Body of Christ was placed in the monstrance and carried in procession round the stadium ....
Father Phillip Lai of OMPH carrying the monstrance around the stadium....miraculously it had stopped raining during the procession.....

Back inside...waiting for the rest of the parishoners to come in.......

the Benediction......

...Blessed be God..Blessed be his Holy Name..........

..the mass is over......
..singing the final hymn.....

...and with gusto....
It was an excellent mass....it was over within 2 and a half hours.....it was well organized.

A view of the monstrance used to carry the Blessed Sacrament......
