When friends come home...a place to catch up

When friends come home a gathering will inevitably take place..catch up ..small talk.. a light makan..where to go..we headed to old town..Jalan Bijeh Timah or Treacher Street..

.. the establishment that was here first was Yoon Wah ..where i had my first ice beer ...

however the guys wanted to try the shop across for a change ..Oversky..

rather an appropriate name..we sat at the lane under the open 'over'sky...

it was a cooling night ..an appropriate atmosphere for a get together..beers & makan..nothing fancy..just local Ipoh stuff.....

apparently everone else preferred to sit outside....

we started with this roast pork and spicey eel 'kung poh'..don't forget to ask for their onion sambal


then we tried the 'chee tai cheong' or intestines..this was spicey too..

not enough try the ginger chicken 'keong kai' and this deep fried fish 'sar tjui'..you can even eat the bones

and if you still haven't had enough try the steamed groundnut 'lam far sang' when the guy passes by ..nice variety huh....

AND...if you still haven't had your fill of local Ipoh food..head over to Ipoh Garden South for the late night 'loke loke'..this shot was taken at almost midnight...and still there was a crowd there..

needless to say everyone enjoyed the night...Ipoh Mali..tentu syok..
