"Easy Drive" ..to Langkawi (1).."Jelapang".. rest area??

An 'easy drive' is when you have time on your hands and stop at any place you fancy to take photographs.....generally there is no time frame to the next destination...this drive was from Ipoh to Langkawi..

My 1st stop was at the rest area between Jelapang Toll and the tunnel....i'd always wanted to stop here for a view of the valley but was always in a hurry...

these flowers on the trees were in full bloom and looked radiant and lovely....

...i used it as a greeting card.....

..the view looking south ...the other side of the highway...soil erosion??!!

..looking east towards Ipoh...it was too cloudy to see the Kinta valley (time was around 915am)...note the long drive up the hill towards the tunnel....

..go around the bend and climb some more....

..caught this trailer straining uphill...looked like it was a model waiting for me to capture it .....the advertisement totally blended in with the enviroment????..great timing...

the tunnel....always fascinates me..tonnes of mountain on the top.....a short cut....(note: took this shot from the other side of the mountain... the PLUS office is missing)

...next stop.....the Perak River rest area....
