Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc) via its subsidiary, TT5 Sdn Bhd, strengthens its efforts to preserve and conserve the Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No.5 (TT5).
Recently, MB Inc established a collaboration with ACF Industries (M) Sdn Bhd, a marine engineering company, to carry out the initiative.
This collaboration is set to provide services to restore, renew and carry out maintenance work on the 83-year-old TT5 that is located at a former tin mining site in Tanjung Tualang, Perak.
The initiative to preserve the tin dredge, which is a heritage site that is part of the Kinta Valley National Geopark, began with an early conference.
The collaboration was sealed by the CEO of MB Inc, Anuar Zainal Abidin, and Head of Operations of ACF Industries, Hamly Mohd Salleh, and witnessed by the manager of Amanjaya TT5 Sdn Bhd, Shahrin Zainon.
Among other initiatives, the two parties will work closely with marine engineering industries and faculties for the purpose of research, drafting of standard operating procedure (SOP) documentations, as well as conservation.
It also includes recording the rectification and maintenance process of the tin dredge.
The recording of the processes will be serialised and it is hoped that they can be used as references for research centres or even schools.
This is because the TT5 is the only tin dredge that still exists, therefore it is important to monitor it closely so that it will continue to be preserved and become a national heritage.
