Holy Valley...@ Batu 8.. Tambun to Tg Rambutan Road

Yes we do have a Holy Valley in Ipoh...places of worship located side by side..its located at Batu 8 along the Tambun to Tg Rambutan Road ..to get there pass by Sunway City and head towards Tg Rambutan..go past the turn off to Ulu Kinta and after the An-Nur mosque on the left ..

....look for a signboard that says says "St Marys Church and another (faded) signboard that says "Kuil Sri Ganesar". Turn in till...

.. the next junction left..you will see this "Sekolah Agama Asy-Syukuriah" ..turn in....

...you will enter into a valley...on your right is the 'Sekolah Agama"

..look behind it and on the upper ridge is .....

what looks like a temple.....

..go abit further ...to the left is a Hindu Temple and further down is "St Mary's Church...see......so many places of worship located side by side...
Wellcome to Holy Valley
( click on the photo below to enlarge )

..this is the Sri Ganesar Temple...

there are alot of nice statues of deities here.......

..monkeys from the hill.....making themselves at home....

next door to the temple is St Mary's Church....

..St Mary's....sharing the same hill as Sri Ganesar Temple...

"Gereja Katholik St Mary"......

..the Church has made a grotto here..with a shrine of Mother Mary.....take a seat on the chairs here and feel the peaceful serenity of the area.....

..steps leading up to the shrine of Mother Mary....

from the grotto looking west...the church in the valley......

next....the view of the temple roof from the valley below....the entrance is to the left of the houses...

.."Persatuan Mempertinggi Akhlak Chan Kong Kok" or "Chan Kong Kok Moral Uplifting Society"

..the prayer hall....

I went by the side of the hall....and came to this wide garden at the back....it was very serene....there are 3 buildings on this hill..the lower building is beyond the bamboo trees and the other 2 are on the left of the photograph....

steps leading to one of the prayer building at the back of the garden.

a view of the building overlooking the garden and the main building......

a garden view at the base of the steps leading to the other prayer buildings...

the steps at the side of the hill..half way up is this gate..note the bell below the sign...

looking up .........nice roof....

looking down......

..the 1st building....

view from the verandah

view from the side of the building....one more level to the top....

view from the 3rd area....

the shrine at the top....

marble top bench and tables.....like everywhere in this valley the atmosphere is so peaceful....

one last view before i go....

Holy Valley indeed. Syabas Ipoh, you are trully a example and really reflects Malaysia Trully Asia and upholds the first tennet of Rukunnegara ' Kepercayaan Kepada Tuhan'. I used to go the first old Chapel at the site of the new church. Used to serve there too.
