The members of the Rights & Privileges Committee were again locked out at the State Secretariat gate on July 30 at 10am.
The first time they were locked out was on Monday July 27 when the committee wanted to meet to investigate the complaint received from Pokok Asam Assemblyman Yee Seu Kai regarding the appointment of Datuk R Ganesan as the "new speaker" during the controversial May 7 Assembly sitting and allowing the police into the State Assembly.
Being locked out, the committee adjourned to a hotel to convene their meeting. After hearing the testimonials from 3 witnesses the committee found Datuk Ganesan guilty of contempt of the house and recommended a 6 month jail term for him in the next sitting.

Based on the chronology of events regarding the appointments on May 7 are deemed illegal because the resolutions were passed before the Raja Muda declared the sitting open.
