Penang has so many interesting sights...these 4 towers for instance...Gotham City...wish there was a monorail circling around it...
whether it be modern buildings or colonial..the mixed blend is charming..like this row of shops off Macalaister Road...
I had popped into a corner kedai kopi Sin Yin Nam (cafe / just noted its name) a few times for lunch and the variety was pretty good..especially liked the char koay tiau and har mee and chicken rice and.......Anyway i wanted a snack before i left for home.Parked my car in front of the Sunway Hotel.
I noticed this building. Nice sculptured door, traditional chinese windows and air vents....
....the friezes on the upper panel was in good condition...in Ipoh and Gopeng they are fading away.....
even the floor tiles on the five foot way was in good condition.....
the Penang Building Association..nice shades of colour ...
..it was around 530pm in the evening..the stalls were just getting ready....
..i was salivating .....
..my koay teow stall was closed but the evening fare was just as varied
..beef ball noodles, laksa, chicken wings ...
i selected this and.....
..this ...but asked for very little innards....
..i haven't seen this in Ipoh for a long time.. or maybe i'm looking in the wrong direction..
both were good....
..the oyster and egg was especially great..totally yummy...wish i had alittle chadonnay with it..hahahaha
..diners sitting under the scope of Komtar. I wonder if Lim Guan Eng looks out his office and tries to figure which hawker stall to go to for his snacks??...hmmmm!
cheers!!
